The Inspirations from British Medical Education Mode

Abstract:Based on the understanding and experience of the author about the British medical education mode during
the short-term study at the University of Leicester in the UK, this paper compares the differences between
China and the UK in aspects of medical teaching modes and medical education concepts as well as the health
care system. And summarizes the student-centered teaching concept, the teaching method that emphasizes
the integration of theory with practice, and the inspirations such as keeping the medical humanistic care and
communication skills run through the whole education. It provides reference for the development of medical
teaching mode in accordance with China’s national conditions.
