Dispersion Compensation Using Frequency Domain Equalization in High-Speed Optical Transmission

Abstract:In high-speed optical transmission, dispersion has a great influence on the system. Frequency domain equalization (FDE) is a very effective method to suppress dispersion. We carried out a simulative study of dispersion compensation with FDE for PM-QAM systems at 112Gbit/s to demonstrate its effectiveness. Simulation results show that FDE can significantly reduce the influence of dispersion on the system.
