Abstract:Objective: To evaluate the psychological state of clinical anesthesiology postgraduates under standardized training in hospital during COVID-19, so as to guide timely psychosocial support.
Methods: Clinical anesthesiology postgraduates at our school, who had been quarantined at home for one month were selected, were requested to complete a self-compiled questionnaire, Symptom Check List-90 (SCL-90) and Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS).
Results: Compared to national youth, clinical anesthesiology postgraduates scored higher on interpersonal relationship, anxiety, hostility and psychosis (P<0.05). Subgroup analysis showed that relative to males, the scores on depression, anxiety, and fear factors were significantly higher in females (P<0.05). The SCL-90 and SAS revealed that third-year postgraduates had anxiety during quarantine.
Conclusion: The COVID-19 negatively affected the psychology of quarantined postgraduates and caused marked anxiety in females and third-year postgraduates. Thus, appropriate psychological intervention is needed to minimize adverse psychological effects.
