Abstract:Abstract: This study attempted to investigate the antecedents of interaction and academic adjustment of international medical students in the Chinese cultural environment. We explored the relationships among cultural intelligence, self-efficacy, interaction and academic adjustment by questionnaire survey. The results of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) based on 252 valid questionnaires showed that cultural intelligence and self-efficacy were positively associated with both interaction adjustment and academic adjustment. Self-efficacy mediated the relationships between cultural intelligence, interaction adjustment, and academic adjustment. Lastly, implications for the theory, practice of cross-cultural adjustment and suggestions for future research were discussed.
