Motivation Analysis and Promotion Measures for Enterprises on Carbon Emission Trading

Abstract:After several years of development, some problems still exist in Chinas carbon emission trading market, such
as inactive trading and large price fluctuation. The key to solve these problems is to improve the motivation of
enterprises to participate in trading. Based on the utility function of participation in carbon emissions trading
the enterprise’ trading motivation is analyzed. It is shown that fair and tighter carbon emission rights allocation,
more accurate carbon emissions prediction ability of the enterprises, punishment mechanism on not timely
implementation, more speculators and lower transaction cost will improve enterprise’ trading motivation. Based on
this, measures are put forward to enhance the motivation of enterprise transactions.
