Abstract:[Background] The aging of the population makes the old-age care service very important, and the home-based old-age care service plays a very important role in Chinas multiple old-age care service system. Whether the home-based care services provided by the government can meet the needs of the elderly is a problem worthy of attention. [Methods] This paper selected a western city G, looking for 100 elderly people in the city, through questionnaire survey and interview method, compared and analyzed the difference between urban and rural elderly home care service demand in G city. [Results] The survey results showed that although the elderly in rural areas were not as eager for home-based care services as the elderly in urban areas, they had shown a strong demand for medical services and spiritual and cultural projects. Urban and rural elderly people have different preferences in specific service projects. [Conclusion] The government should pay attention to the living conditions of the elderly and provide corresponding pension services according to their pension needs. The government should strive to improve the level of rural home-based aged care services, so that the level of urban and rural home-based aged care services tends to be equal. Strengthen the level of medical services in rural areas. Pay attention to the spiritual and cultural needs of the elderly and carry out rich social activities to give the elderly more choices.
