Abstract:In the background of the Belt and Road initiative implemented by China, an analysis of the mainlands export
of aquatic products to Taiwan between 2006 and 2016 is made by using the modified CMS model. The first level
of research results show that the growth in the mainlands export of aquatic products to Taiwan, to a great extent,
depends on these products scale effect and competition effect; The second level of research results show that
the growth in the mainlands aquatic product export to Taiwan is mainly the combined outcome of growth effect
and comprehensive competitiveness effect, and does not lie in the increase in the competitiveness of mainlands
aquatic products, which is not consistent with the structure of Taiwans import of aquatic products.
