Abstract：Medical education is a special lifelong education. The cultivation of innovative thinking and consciousness
is of great importance for the improvement of career development and clinical competence of medical
students. Educational internationalization and international communication level have become the important
evaluation indicators for the performance of functions of medical universities. University students’
participation in scientific research is an important way to inspire their innovative consciousness and cultivate
their innovative ability, and is also an objective requirement of the cultivation goals and educational standards
for medical students. Under the background of comprehensively promoting quality education, the study on
how to cultivate the innovative ability of international students in accordance with the internationalization
requirements of medical education standards is of great value to improve the education quality of international
medical students and achieve the cultivation goals of medical education. The paper discusses on the current
situation and improvement measures of international medical students participating in scientific research.
