Ground Clutter Removal Technology for Weather Radar Based on Differential Phase Data

Abstract:The commonly used ground clutter removal technology of weather radar uses regression filter to remove clutter,
which will attenuate the weather echo signal and affect the subsequent analysis of meteorological information.
Based on the above situation, the ground clutter elimination technology of weather radar based on differential
phase data is studied. The difference phase data of weather radar signal and the characteristics of ground clutter are
analyzed to determine the relationship between ground clutter and weather echo signal. In the frequency domain,
the adaptive Gaussian frequency domain filter is used to eliminate the ground clutter of weather radar. Through
the comparative simulation experiment, it is verified that the residual ground clutter is less after the research
technology processing, and there is no phenomenon that the meteorological echo is removed by mistake, which
shows that the ground clutter removal technology based on differential phase data has better processing effect.
